Björn Stoll earned his master luthier status from the violin making school in Marknewkirchen. He comes from a long line of bass makers in the Musikwinkle area of Germany. His father worked with Rubner during their golden era, and continues, in his retirement years to do color and finish work on the Stoll Basses. Since opening his own shop, he has partnered with Lemur Music to bring these fine basses to market.
Stoll's basses have a powerful sound, owing to the strong yet flexible tops. They are meticulously antiqued and have a beautiful hand-applied varnish. Stoll is where tradition and great value come together.

7/8 size Gamba Model. Herr Stoll won an artist grant and used the time and money to develop this beautiful master-quality double bass. The upper bout is small enough to promote easy access to the upper register. The lower bout is, simply stated, large. The combination creates an outstanding combination of payability and sound, and the shape is most pleasing to the eye.
